With 2007 nearing, Oklahoma fans are wondering, who's the
quarterback of the future, Halzle, Bradford or Nichol? Days prior to the 2006 season, there was no question that Oklahoma's quarterback for the next two years was Rhett Bomar. Now Oklahoma fans can re-enter the debate on local sport radio, the quarterback of the future – reminisce the past Thompson or Bomar '05 battle. Now only, the local all-sports quarterback Sam Bradford or the touted Michigan quarterback Keith Nichol – but lets not forget JUCO quarterback Joey Halzle.
With the future quarterback comparisons of yesterday and today. Oklahoma's yesterday quarterback Rhett Bomar to incoming freshman Keith Nichol, Sam Bradford to UT's today Colt McCoy, or just Halzle to Heupel. Nichol a quarterback most Oklahoma fans have not seen -- doesn't make any sense for most to make any comparison.
To a quarterback that was all everything in
Nichol sounds like, cover your eyes, the anti-Rhett Bomar. "He doesn't know what he is," said Noel Dean, Nichol's coach at Lowell High. "There's a pureness about him. A naivety about who he is and it keeps him humble."
But then, some in Oklahoma think local quarterback Sam Bradford may be all everything – including the one leading Sooner Nation 9-3 (pending 10-3), including a win over your biggest rival as Colt McCoy did. The Oklahoman writes:
Can anyone say Colt McCoy? A stretch? Perhaps. No one is predicting such sudden success for
So, maybe not... I don't foresee any quarterback running off any prospect looking at

Another QB battle for the most prestiged program in the nation. I here alot about Nichol but I think Bradford has the right blood for the job. Sooner bred and Sooner fed.

I don't want a "Colt Mccoy", K-st. and A&M exposed him. Hit him hard enough and there goes down Texas. He was fortunate to have that o-line. I love the Josh
Heupel scenario though. How sweet would that be for the Sooner Nation. It sounds like most people are hyped for Nichol. It will be great to see who takes the snaps next year. Much love for P.T. the new Sooner legend.

As a 'hard core Sooner' I feel comfortable with the choices we have at quarterback... each option seems more than capable of doing the job... it seems not long ago that many were 'crying wolf' over PT being placed in the starting role...in reality, any quarterback our coaches have selected are more than qualified and capable.... probably true of all positions......

I agree with big willie. The only qb problems we seem to have are "off the Field". P.T. and his crew still have a challenge ahead of them. How many trick plays you think Boise will run in the game? They are going to bring it>

Hey QB talk already? We still got a dogfight in Boise St. They are quick, scrappy, and know how to win. You get a big head about these guys and your done. The Sooners can't make this game a shoot-out.
P.T. has done more then you can ask for but the odds are against the offense in a shoot-out. If the Sooners kept improving the last few weeks and they play Sooner Ball. The Fiesta Bowl will be a great one to remember for the rest of time.

I don't mean to be rude, but this is a very poorly written article. I might suggest you proof read what you write before you post it. Otherwise, thanks for the information on the upcoming quarterback competition in Norman.
